Before You Buy An Electric Mobility Scooter, Consider This .

It is important to know all you can pertaining to power-operated vehicles before you purchase one.

·An electric mobility scooter works for you if you have upper body strength and can sit with minimal support.  Lifting your arms/hands to a driving position helps with your breathing and posture.  You can increase your circulation by using your legs and feet to swivel the seat.

·An electric scooter does not require a van for transporting.  It will fit into a trunk or a hatchback.

·Use your Medicare dollars wisely.  First choose the best electric scooter for your needs and think about the cost of service.  Be sure to purchase equipment that fits you, your home, and your lifestyle.

·Platform width (including rear wheels) and the height of the seat from the floor are two measurements you should know for functionality of your mobility scooter.

·Seating on your mobility scooter is very important if you will be sitting there for more than four hours a day.  Make sure the cushion supports your legs and that your upper legs are at a 90-degree angle with your hips.

·Treaded rear tires are found on most electric scooters.  Users are requesting replacement tires because of the dirt and stones carried indoors with the treads.  Some things to consider regarding tread versus non-tread tires:  Treaded tires are wider, provide good traction on grass and snow, are non-marking and foam filled.  Non-treaded tires are easy to clean, do not hold dirt, rim does not mark furniture, non-marking, urethane rubber, and provide a softer ride on your mobility scooter.  Your needs will help you make this decision.
