What Makes Naim Audio CD5x Superior?
Sharing rack life with the likes of Cyrus Audio, musical fidelity and Quad Audio, Naim enjoys a patronage that values the distortion reductions consistently being upgraded in the audio products. Description of CD5x:
CD3 is the entry level CD player from Naim Audio. The CD5x has descended from CD3 as its immediate predecessor. It has marked the debut of the company's ingenious swing out transport tray. To the laser sled and the drive hub, a mechanical isolation of added measure and a motorised drawer allows Naim to dispense quality sound (with the drawer). This is of course on the assumption that it is better that money is spent on the quality of music. With the help of their own power most of the Naim audiophiles are capable of closing and opening a disc tray.
With a new design of the internal circuit board, a refined version of the original, the CD5x was introduced to keep the swing out tray and the transport assembly upgraded. To enable HDCD decoding, CD5x is the first Naim player to get a Pacific Microsonics digital filter. Once the digital words have been recreated they are allowed to be re-dithered by the PMD200 chip which according to Naim Audio is the best sounding digital filter available as far as quality sound is concerned.

When listening to a track on the CD5x it is difficult to remain seated in comparison to most competing alternatives. It is by far the best digital you could have ever heard. When playing intense versions rhythmic nuance is shown a lot of respect by the CD5x. The CD5x does a good job of conveying on stage the drum's kit placement.
