A typical contingency plan comprises the following: Identification of authority and chain of command and listing of persons and organizations that must be immediately informed of an oil spill. Shoreline cleanup methods include physical herding, using barriers or berms, pressure washing, manual cleaning, sedimentation, removal of oil debris, and more.
