While remodeling a bathroom, choosing a new toilet is an important thing to consider in remodeling. There are various types of toilets available in market so while choosing it is important to look at all aspects of bathroom toilets.
The first thing to decide while purchasing bathroom-toilet is what size of toilet fits between the toilet bolt holes and the bathroom wall. This is called as the "rough in" size. In the U.S., Mostly people preferred 10", 12", and 14" inch toilets. The most common one among all three is the 12" inch size. To get the perfect size of toilet, first map and write it down the distance between the wall and the rear bolt holes. Keep these details with you while you go to buy toilet.
The second most important factor to consider is the flushing capability. New toilets can only use 1.6 gallons of water; however some toilets flush better than others. There are two types of flush comes in toilets, "gravity-fed" and "pressure assisted." Gravity is the flushing system which has been used in past. Whereas pressure assisted toilets have a container inside the tank that holds compressed air. When flushed, the air helps push everything in the toilet down the drain.
The third aspect to consider is whether to go with a round or elongated bowl. Round bowls are smaller and also less expensive compare to elongated bowls. They are best for small bathrooms especially when you have children to use toilets. Elongated bowls are two to three inches larger than round ones.
The final thing to check is the style. Most common style people preferred is
a two piece white toilet which is least costly than all. But many people also like one piece toilet due to its slickness. Also one piece is easy to clean compare to two pieces. Wall mounted toilets are also popular nowadays however they are quite costly. Also their installation is tougher.
Also when are you checking all styles available in toilets, also consider height of toilet as a major factor that is the height of the toilet seat from the floor.
