A Scooter Trip I Hope To Remember: Part 1
Growing up in India, I was a boy with a dream. India, when I grew up, was the scooter capital of the world. In a society where only people who earned six figures could afford four wheels, the scooter was the savior of the middle class. And my favorite scooter was the one my dad drove our family around on. And to me, driving that was the ultimate dream.
Now, as I near the ripe age of 24, India is still the scooter capital of the world. In fact, it is the two wheeler capital of the world. Nothing has changed, apart from that classic scooter my dad used to ride. It's now too bulky to survive our roads and maneuverability has suffered immensely due to those darned cars. My dream of driving the old scooter needed just a little modification as I yearned for something relatively new school. I also decided to avoid the city roads, as nostalgic as they made me, and decided to take a scooter trip to the hills.
THE MACHINE: First up, I was faced with the task of picking a scooter that would be rugged and powerful enough for the punishment that awaited it. The clutter in the market didn't make things easier. I was, on my part confident I wanted an Indian scooter, and not the Jap ones which have flooded the market.
After scouring the market for Indian scooter, I finally found my ride- The Mahindra Rodeo. The Rodeo is a high performance, feature-packed 125 cc gearless scooter. It will cost approximately 40,000 bucks. Just the beast for my budget!
Some other features I found interesting and extremely useful on the road

When I rode it around, the Mahindra Rodeo proved to have excellent pick up, smooth acceleration and is generally, a safe drive in heavy traffic on Indian roads. The comfort and safety factors are also given importance, which is evident with just a glance at the ergonomically designed two wheeler.
Trust an Indian maker known for rugged vehicles, and you can never go wrong.
THE TRIP: Now that I've traced my machine, It was now time to find a trail I could trip on. After great research, I've narrowed down on this trail:
This trip will pan 4 states and 15 cities. Just can't wait to get going.
