Maruti Suzuki Ritz in to the Indian market
Maruti Suzuki always believed in bringing the new and fresh designs to attract the customers of every class. This car was first introduced as the concept car at the 2006 Paris Motor Show with the name of Splash but now this has been renamed to Ritz.
However in the recent few months the two most talkative cars from Maruti were A-Star and Splash but as A-Star made its debut in the Indian market in the December 2008. So, its Splash tern now to turn the wheels again to grab the customer’s attention. Maruti who surprised the Indian customers two decades ago with its Maruti 800 that broke all the records and mobilized dreams of millions. Maruti didn’t stopped there and kept on moving ahead while maintaining the pace with the time, and time to time it brought innovative designs and elegant cars for its customers whether it be Zen, Alto, WagonR, Swift, Baleno or A-Star. It set standards for the other manufacturers to think and bring fresh designs for its customers. And with Ritz they are again set to maintain those standards.
Designed to meet your needs
Now it’s the perfect time to discuss about all new Maruti Suzuki Ritz. In terms of design this car too has got the fresh design and is new in looks to surprise the Indian customers. The design is inspired from the Swift but differs from the rear end which is quiet similar to the flat looks of the old Santro. What’s unique in this car is the space designed to meet your requirements, whether it be the boot space or nice interiors with good finish. The seats are perfectly placed to feel comfortable. The car is spacious like WagonR, stylish like Swift and A-Star and powerful like Baleno. The interiors are new and fresh too with everything placed elegantly. The steering is quiet comfortable and is fresh in looks. The electrical switches too are made with design. Its dashboard has plenty of expense including a flip lid incase of crowning, a clean glovebox and a tray aweigh. But non-slip surfaces would make them more usable. The seats are placed superbly and one can see the space after entering into it. However the seats are deep like WagonR but the boot space between the seats are fantastic and one can easily analyse the space. The head room is also sufficient which makes the assengers feel easy while coming in and coming out of the car. Despite it’s a four-seater, and has sufficiency for five at a squeeze. This car has also got the climate control AC to cool to adjust the temperature inside the car accordingly. This car has got rush small looks from front to rear. But there’s a bounteous compartment unseeable low the simulated story with the expanse saver constituent rotate unseeable in added place beneath that. The newborn car combines the sporty looks with comfort. The doors are also designed perfectly and blend perfectly with the sporty look of the car.
Saving with Power Maruti Suzuki Ritz is going to have the first Bharat Stage IV engine placed in any Indian passenger car. Ritz is powered by K12M engine. This 1197 engine is second in the K series and retains the technological superiority and fuel efficiency of the K10B engine which powers Maruti Suzuki A star. Ritz is going to be the first car to hold the K12M engine in it. And infact Ritz will be the second car to join the club of K series engine. This new K12M engine is complete aluminum low weight engine with best in class fuel efficiency. Like the K10B engine, plastic parts have been extensively used in K12M engine too.
The skirt area of the piston has been shortened to make the aluminum engine lighter, whereas the resin-coated piston helps in reducing friction and increase fuel efficiency. Apart from this Maruti has also used the advanced technology for silent timing chain to improve NVH characteristics. With these features the performance of the engine is enhanced and it thus delivers the quality service for saving fuel, also increasing the life of the other parts like spark plug. This engine will run on a Semi Synthetic engine oil providing improved changeover time from 1,000 km to 10,000 km. Another added technological advancement is the use of the timing chain instead of the conventional belt design which hinders performance and durability of the engine.
The 1197 cc K12M engine generates the torque of 113Nm @4500 rpm and power is generated with this 4 cylinder is 85BHP @6000 rpm. The power generated is relatively higher due to its shorter strokes of 71.5mm as compared to its bore which is 73mm.The engine is designed especially to meet the needs of the Indian driving conditions. With the Tappet design the valve clearance re-adjustment frequency has been reduced which then improves the fuel efficiency and cut the driving costs.
The K12M engine further strengthens Maruti Suzuki’s efforts for fuel efficient, green engine technology for Indian customers. With a new technology engine, the Ritz will be positioned in the upper end of the growing compact car segment.
Since Maruti Suzuki Ritz is expected to be launched in the Indian market somewhere around mid or end of May, 2009 and is expected to be priced around Rs 4 lakh to 5.5 lakh. Maruti Suzuki Ritz would be available in 6 versions with the option of direct injection rail diesel too.
