How to Choose a Mobility Scooter Without Any Worries?

Mobility scooters have come as a pleasant surprise for those elderly, disabled and handicapped persons who could, heretofore, never dream of such independence and freedom of movement at an affordable price. 1. If the use of the scooter is to be confined to home use only, a compact three-wheeler would be suitable to move around within the limited space provided. Most 4-wheel scooters now come with such safety devices as standard features.

3. If your destination would require you to pass through certain roads, it is imperative that your scooter is equipped with head lights, tail-lights and signaling indicators.

4. Your choice of the scooter will also be determined by the fact that there are steps at the front door of your home.

5. As you will be using your scooter for traveling every now and then, it is advisable that you select a model which is both comfortable and easy to handle. A truly comfortable, adjustable seat and ample leg space are important considerations.

6. If you plan to use your scooter at a considerable distance from home, such as the neighboring town or village, you may like to choose a scooter which would easily fold down and fit in your car.

a) To deter anyone from having an easy access to your vehicle, electronic warning device or master key mechanism may be installed.

b) Scooter's seat should not be accessible from the outside. Besides, it should have a built-in locking device to prevent any accidental fall.

c) Your scooter should be fitted with proper lights and reflectors so that the same is visible in any inclement weather.

d) Sturdy bumpers should be installed in the front and the back of the vehicle to cushion the impact of any collision.
